Title Screen: Printing Documents
There are two ways to print instruction documents:
GENERIC - This looks like a set of pre-printed instructions and contains no
personalized information for the current patient.
CUSTOMIZED - This personalizes each document set for the current patient with patient
and doctor names, Referrals and special advice.
GENERIC documents are created by selecting titles and adding them to the Print
List, then selecting the Print function.
CUSTOMIZED documents are created by selecting titles and adding them to the
Print List, then switching to the Custom Screen to create entries into the fields
there before printing.
Printing is initiated for either type of document by left-clicking on the
Print button from the Title Screen or Custom Screen. The {Alt}-P or {F10} keys
will cause printing, as well. All titles added to the Print List will be printed
in the order of listing. If there has been no titles added to the Print List,
only the highlighted title in the Title List will be printed.
After printing, all fields in the Custom Screen as well as the contents of the
Print List will be cleared. If Spanish toggle was turned on before printing,
it will be reset to the "off" position after printing.
RECOVER PRINT LIST FEATURE
When there is a problem which causes the print list to fail, the contents of
the last print session can be recalled using the Recover feature. This avoids
the need to re-select titles and add custom information again. Select File Menu |
Recover Print List. This feature is also useful, if you printed in English,
but later realized that you needed the instructions in Spanish.
SIGNATURE LINES {Manager Mode only}
Signature lines can be printed at the bottom of the document. This option is
selected from File Menu | Settings | Printing Tab while in the Manager Mode.
Signature lines can be printed with all documents, or they can be made to print
only when a personalized document is created by entries on the Custom Screen.
This feature is controlled with File Menu | Settings | Printing Tab. Signature
lines are valuable for Emergency Departments, Urgent Care Clinics, and any other
setting where it is important to document the receipt of information by the
patient.
FOOTER LINES {Manager Mode only}
A three line FOOTER can be printed at the end of each document set. The
original software comes with a sample footer which you can edit or remove from File
Menu | Settings while in the Manager Mode.
NOTE: The State of California requires the following message be given to the parents
of all pediatric patients. Your state may have a similar requirement.
Therefore, you may wish to add the following phrase (or its equivalent for your State,
to the footer):
California State law requires that children under 4 years of age or less than
40 pounds must use an approved CAR SAFETY SEAT.
El estado de California requiere por ley que los niņos menores de 4 aņos o que
pesan menos de 40 libras vayan en el carro sentados en un ASIENTO INFANTIL DE
SEGURIDAD aprobado.
NUMBER OF COPIES {Manager Mode only}
The NUMBER OF COPIES printed during each print session can be set from File
Menu | Printer Setup.
