Misc.: Overview of Exit-Writer Screens

The program has been designed to maximize ease-of-use. For the purpose of creating discharge instructions, you only need to use two primary screens.

The Title Screen permits title selection, document viewing, document editing for both temporary and permanent changes, selection of Spanish mode, and printing. The Custom Screen permits customization of the document for the current patient.

There are two modes of operation of the program:

User Mode offers a limited number of menu options for basic functioning of the program by the typical user.

Manager Mode offers a more extended menu options for use by program manager. This mode lets you make additions/deletions/edits to the following areas:

Instruction Set

File Settings

Phrase List

Attending MD List

Referral List

The Custom Screen allows you to indicate the Attending MD, the patient's name and ID number, up to three Referrals and Special Advice regarding home-care and follow-up.

The Rx-Writer! Screen is an additional screen that is used for creating prescriptions. It is an integrated feature that can be selected from both the Title and Custom Screens.
