Misc.: Introduction to Exit-Writer
The Exit-Writer program is a clinical tool for use by medical staff for the creation of
standard or customized instructions for patients at the time of discharge from a
medical facility. Exit-Writer was designed by a Board Certified emergency physician who understands the
need for a simple and efficient way to create a comprehensive discharge document
that provides medical and legal protection for the physician and medical staff
while offering valuable information to patients about their condition.
Exit-Writer includes 500 topics in English and Spanish that covers the common conditions
encountered in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care Clinic. Medications and
Treatment topics are also included.
RX-Writer!, available in the standard version of Exit-Writer, is a powerful feature of the Exit-Writer program that lets you create legible and accurate prescriptions quickly. The
most common Dose and Sig are the default settings for each drug in Rx-Writer.
You can select new default Dose and Sig settings. You may add new drugs,
Doses and Sigs. You can even customize the Rx settings for each Attending MD, so
that each doctor sees their own Rx list with the dose and Sigs the way they
commonly write them.
