Fax: Auto-Fax feature
With the Auto-Fax feature enabled, a one-page fax summary will be sent to up
to three Referral Sources at the time of printing the patient's instruction
document. This will only work with Referral Sources that have a fax number
inserted in the fax field of the Referral List input form; and only if the
Fax checkbox is checked adjacent to the Referral MD field on the Custom Screen.

CONFIDENTIALITY of FAXED INFORMATION
A confidentiality statement appears at the bottom of the faxed document. You can modify this statement.
Turn on Manager Mode and select the document .Fax Form. Edit this form with the Title Menu | Edit Instruction function. You will
see many "fields" which automatically insert the user-input. Do not try to edit
these. Instead, go to the bottom of the document and edit the words inside the
confidentiality box. Save your changes and exit. Remember to edit the Spanish
fax form, by clicking on the Spanish On button, then opening the .Fax Form
document. The terms will all be in English, but when you have the Spanish button
on, it references a different set of instructions, including the Fax Form
instruction so edits have to be made here too.
Of course, a confidentiality statement on the faxed form does not address
hospital requirements for releasing information outside the institution. You may
wish to discuss this issue with your administration before enabling the fax
feature. Most hospitals routinely send copies of the ED record to the referral or
private physician and the patient is usually not asked to sign a release for
this. If your hospital has a different policy, you may want to include a
statement about information release within the consents signed by the patient at the
time of registration.
