Auxiliary List: Patient List
If you have created a link between your registration system (or a Tracking
System) and the Exit-Writer program, this screen will display all patients registered but not yet
discharged. (See Appendix for details on this link.)
Click on the New Patient button of the Custom Screen to open this list. The
New Patient button will only be visible if you have turned this feature on in
the File Menu | Settings | General Tab screen.
Selecting a patient from this list will add the identifying data to the Custom
Screen and remove this patient from the Patient List Screen.
List Search
Once the list is open, you may search by any of the fields (Patient, Attending
MD, Referral, Arrival Time, File Time). To search, left-click on the button
above the column that you wish to search. Then, type in the first few letters
of the search. Use the arrow keys or mouse to refine the selection. Notice
that clicking on a column button causes all entries to be sorted according to the
items in that column.
OK
Hitting the OK button will cause the currently highlighted patient to be
imported to the Custom Screen.
Delete
You can manually delete a patient from this list. This is useful if there has
been redundant entry of a patient, or when patients are admitted and therefore
not discharged from the facility.
Import
While the Polling Interval in the File Setting: General Tab allows you to
determine how often Exit-Writer will check the receiving directory for new patients registered, you may use
the Import button to force a manual import of any patients registered since the
last automatic polling event.
